Both have a 48MP main camera, while the 17 has a higher-resolution ultra-wide. Neither has a dedicated telephoto. For zoom-focused photography, compare the actual reach you need before choosing either standard model.

Battery Life & Charging

Two visually identical used 15 units may have very different battery histories. Ask about condition and service records. Compare repair and replacement options using a real assessment rather than an assumed battery lifespan.

Apple’s US specifications list up to 30 hours of video playback for iPhone 17 and 20 for iPhone 15. These are manufacturer test maxima for the models, not measurements of a used unit or promises for navigation, recording or weak-signal use.

Software & Features

The standard 15 does not meet Apple Intelligence hardware requirements; the 17 does. This matters only if the particular available tool is useful to you. Confirm language, region and feature rollout before buying for AI.
